Denver NORML is a local chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Their mission includes working to ensure the consumer maintains a voice in marijuana law reforms and educating the community about marijuana and hemp and their potential medical and industrial uses. Denver NORML supports NORML's mission of moving public opinion sufficiently to achieve the repeal of marijuana prohibition so that the responsible use of marijuana by adults is no longer subject to criminal sanctions.

On April 15th, 2017 Denver NORML hosted a free event, the Grow Safety Symposium at the Englewood Civic Center. It focused around safety and sustainability for home cultivation.

In Colorado, residents have the legal right to grow Cannabis, however there is a lack of education regarding the best practices for each municipality. The Grow Safety Symposium was held to cover every aspect of home cultivation from seed to flower.

The goal of the Denver NORML, Grow Safety Symposium, was to create a dialogue and provide as much education as possible. People often move to Colorado, for the opportunity to legally grow their own marijuana. Some arrive with little knowledge, but much eagerness to grow. They typically buy a light, put it in a small closet or tent, and then immediately run into issues with ventilation, temperatures, an outbreak of mold contamination, and pests. It is imperative to continue to educate home growers and patients alike, on how to identify, grow, as well as maintain the safest quality cannabis possible.

Although, the learning curve is steep and it can be difficult to adapt to change, knowledge is power and with safety events like theGrow SafetySymposium aimed at homegrowers, it could curb the negative news of botched homegrows and extractors in the evening news.

Denver NORML Grow Safety Symposium opened the conversation between growers and the selected presenters in their areas of expertise. As most of the topics covered cultivation from seed to flower; the Integra Team was invited to present and discuss how to properly store and cure cannabis. As mentioned, many growers encounter problems with mold and mildew. Integra by Desiccare Inc. has provided effective moisture control solutions to common moisture problems in the electronics industry, food safety, transportation, and government since 1994'.
